Significance of Republic Day
Republic Day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India, drafted by a committee led by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, which came into effect after independence. It is a day of national pride, parades, cultural programs, bravery awards, and unity in diversity – distinct from Independence Day (August 15), which celebrates freedom from British rule.
