Over 50 private companies will participate in the fair, offering more than 15,000 job opportunities to the youth

Lucknow: In a major boost to Mission Rozgar, the Yogi government is intensifying its efforts with a series of Rozgar Melas throughout Uttar Pradesh. After the successful mega fairs in Ambedkarnagar on August 17 and Ayodhya on August 18, another employment fair is set to take place in Muzaffarnagar under the guidance of CM Yogi.

At the previous fairs, more than 12,000 appointment letters were distributed. The upcoming event in Muzaffarnagar is anticipated to provide over 15,000 employment opportunities, with more than 5,000 appointment letters expected to be distributed among the youth.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the Rozgar Mela and distribute the appointment letters. Organized by the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, the employment fair will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. It will be open not only to students from the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission and ITI but also to other general students seeking job opportunities.

State Minister (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal, stated that the state government is actively working to connect trainees from the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission with employment opportunities following their training.

“In line with this effort, Rozgar Melas are being organized, and a major employment fair will be held on August 22 at Bhagwant Institute of Technology (BIT) in Meerapur, Muzaffarnagar. This event will feature over 50 esteemed companies offering more than 15,000 job vacancies. The companies will conduct interviews and provide employment opportunities, with on-the-spot appointment letters being distributed to 5,000 selected youth.”

Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to over 12,000 youth across two districts within two days on August 17 and 18. In addition, more than 17,000 tablets and smartphones were given to students.

On Saturday, at the district-level employment fair in Ambedkar Nagar, CM Yogi handed out appointment letters to 6,572 youth. The following day, 5,574 appointment letters were distributed at the employment fair in Ayodhya.

Over 100 stalls were set up by companies at Rozgar Melas, providing job opportunities in sectors including manufacturing, engineering, telecom, healthcare, construction, and IT.

The Yogi government is focused on creating employment opportunities for youth not only through government jobs but also in private companies. To support this, various skill development programs are being implemented. The government aims to place a significant number of youth in private sector roles through these job fairs in 2024.

Over the past seven and a half years, the Yogi government’s efforts have led to more than 6.5 lakh youth securing government jobs, with over 3.75 lakh obtaining employment through contracts. Additionally, employment has been provided to two crore individuals in the private sector and MSMEs.

The state government is dedicated to enhancing employment and skill development opportunities for youth, aiming to not only provide jobs but also prepare them for competition on national and international stages.

Under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, lakhs of youth are receiving free training through initiatives like the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, and other programs. In the past seven years, over 16.5 lakh youth have been trained under this mission, with more than 6.7 lakh securing employment.

Under “Project Praveen”, about 65,000 students have been provided free skill training in the last two years. By expanding this scheme from the year 2024, arrangements are being made for skill training in major schools across every district in the state.

The state has created more than 5.5 lakh seats for youth through 305 government and 2,932 private ITIs. Over the last six years, more than 90 new government ITIs have been established, with some operating under the PPP model. Additionally, 150 government ITIs are being upgraded in partnership with Tata Technologies to align with Industry 4.0 and offer advanced technical training to youth.
