Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case: Sensational kidnapping; 3 detained, mystery deepens

Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case: Nancy Guthrie (84), mother of American TV anchor Savannah Guthrie, was allegedly abducted from her home in Tucson (Catalina Foothills), Arizona, on the night of February 1, 2026. Blood stains and signs of forced abduction were found outside the home, leading police to consider it a kidnapping.

At least three people have been detained in connection with the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of US journalist Savannah Guthrie, who was last seen on the night of January 31.

According to Fox News Digital, citing a local law enforcement source, authorities detained two men and their mother after receiving a tip. The source said a warrant had been issued.

While the warrant was being issued, the source said, “Technically, everyone is in custody.” It’s not yet clear if any of them are suspects.

On the evening of February 1, a large law enforcement operation took place in an area about two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home.

Fox News reported that a SWAT vehicle and the Pima County Sheriff’s mobile command center had been mobilized from headquarters several hours earlier.

More vehicles, some believed to be from federal law enforcement, were seen arriving at the scene. According to CNN, the first group of cars included marked sheriff’s units, while the second group included a federal evidence truck.

The SWAT vehicle was initially seen leaving the scene, while forensic trucks remain at the scene.

Law enforcement has not explained why this action was taken, but investigators are expected to share more information as they become available. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said, “A written statement will be forthcoming.”

Earlier on Friday, Fox News reported that a surveillance plane circled the area for about an hour before heading south.
