The Raja Saab Review: South superstar Prabhas’s new film has made a tremendous impact at the box office since its release. The film opened to packed theaters, indicating strong collections on its first day.
Prabhas is returning to the big screen after two years with Maruti’s horror-comedy. The Raja Saab, the first major release of 2026, was shot on a massive set built on the outskirts of Hyderabad, where the filmmakers constructed an entire mansion, making it one of the largest indoor sets in the world.
This powerful opening has ended the 35-day reign of ‘Dhurandhar’ at the top of the box office. ‘Dhurandhar’ had maintained its lead for a long time due to its excellent content and word-of-mouth, but Prabhas’s star power and the massive release have changed the equation.
Directed by Maruti, the film has generated excitement due to its lead actor’s return to the family entertainer genre after more than a decade. All of Prabhas’s films after the Baahubali series were mass action entertainers. Fans are saying that The Raja Saab marks the return of ‘Vintage Prabhas’.
Besides Prabhas, The Raja Saab also features Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhi Agarwal, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab.
The film was released worldwide in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English.
According to trade experts:
Prabhas’s film has received a tremendous response in both multiplexes and single-screen theaters.
Weekend collections are expected to be even stronger.
‘Dhurandhar’ may remain in the top 5, but it has lost the #1 spot.
It will be interesting to see if Prabhas’s film can maintain this momentum in the coming weeks or if there will be new competition at the box office.
