According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain is expected in Delhi-NCR during the Dussehra celebrations. The region is expected to remain cloudy throughout the week, providing relief from the recent high temperatures and humidity. The sky will remain cloudy on October 3, 4, and 5, and heavy rain is expected again on October 6 with dark clouds.
Yellow alert issued for Delhi-NCR
The IMD confirmed that light rain was forecast for the past few days, and more rain is expected tomorrow. “We have issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR and very light rain is expected,” Kumar told ANI. Light to moderate rain is also expected to continue in northwest India over the next few days.

Rain likely in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh
Many neighboring cities in Haryana, such as Sonipat, Kharkhoda, Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, Rewari, Palwal, Bawal, Nuh, Aurangabad, and Hodal, are likely to receive rain in the coming days. Rain is also expected in several areas of Uttar Pradesh, including Khatauli and Sakoti Tanda.
Delhi receives above-normal rainfall in September
Delhi recorded over 150 mm of rainfall in September, significantly exceeding the monthly normal of 123.5 mm. Between June 1 and September 30, the city received over 900 mm of rainfall, exceeding the seasonal monsoon average of 774.4 mm. This year, the monsoon arrived in late June.
