Delhi Armwrestling Team Ready for National Championship 2026 in Gujarat

New Delhi: Armwrestling Association of Delhi (AAD), in association with Punjabi Bagh Club, organized a special ‘Delhi Armwrestling Team Best Wishes Ceremony’ at the Auditorium, Punjabi Bagh Club, New Delhi, to motivate and encourage the Delhi team members who are going to participate in the National Armwrestling & PARA Armwrestling Championship 2026, scheduled to be held at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from 29th May to 2nd June 2026.

The championship is expected to see participation by around 2,500 men and women athletes representing more than 30 States and Union Territories across India. The prestigious event will also serve as a selection platform for the Indian Team for the 47th World Armwrestling Championship 2026, which is scheduled to be hosted in Delhi later this year.

Shri Vijay Manav, Shri Satish Jindal, former ACP Shri Rajkumar Khatana, Shri Laxman Singh Bhandari, Shri Gulshan Kharbanda, Shri Sanjay Deswal, Shri Vikas Tyagi, Shri Shamsher Mehra, Harshit Singh Bhandari, and other distinguished guests extended their heartfelt blessings and best wishes to the athletes.

The dignitaries highly appreciated the players’ hard work, discipline, and dedication, and motivated them to give their best at the National Championship. They encouraged the athletes to compete with confidence, determination, and true sportsmanship, and bring pride and glory to Delhi through their outstanding achievements.

General Secretary and Coach Shri Laxman Singh Bhandari stated that the Delhi team’s preparation and training are progressing exceptionally well. He further added that Delhi secured the 2nd Overall Runner-Up position at last year’s National Championship, and this year the team is fully determined to perform even better and bring greater glory to Delhi. He also mentioned that the 47th World Armwrestling Championship will be held in Delhi this year, and the association is confident that many athletes from Delhi will earn selection through the National Championship.
