T20 World Cup 2024: BCCI has finally announced India’s squad for the T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma will captain the 15-member team. Hardik Pandya has returned as India’s vice-captain. But today we are not talking about Team India. Today we are talking about the performance of the team selected for the T20 World Cup in IPL.
Rohit Sharma
BCCI-selected captain Rohit Sharma has played 7 innings so far in IPL 2024 and scored 176 runs in them. He has shown what he is capable of but his average of 25.14 and a strike rate of 170.87 shows that he is not in top form. He has scored only two half-centuries in 7 innings.
Hardik Pandya
Mumbai Indians MI captain Hardik Pandya has faced a disappointing performance so far in the Indian Premier League IPL 2024 season. MI are last in the standings with three wins from 10 matches so far. Pandya’s recent performance in IPL is not good. Pandya has played 10 IPL matches in 2024 in which he has scored a total of 197 runs for MI. His batting average is 21.89 and his strike rate is 150.38.
Suryakumar Yadav
Yadav After missing several early matches in IPL 2024 due to injury, the batsman’s comeback has not been good. He has scored only 176 runs in seven matches, which includes two half-centuries.
Jaspreet Bumrah
Bumrah is the life of the Indian pace attack. Bumrah is the highest wicket-taker in 10 matches so far this season, taking 14 wickets at an average of 18.28 and an economy rate of 6.40. His best figures are 5 21. However, his bowling form has not helped his team as they are ninth in the points table with three wins and seven losses.
Shivam Dube
Dube’s biggest improvement in his game in 2024 has come in his game against fast bowlers. Dubey’s strike rate against pace has improved from 143 in 2023 to 172 this season. Meanwhile, he continued his dominance on spin and bowled out the slow bowlers, scoring 66 runs off just 38 balls at a strike rate of 174.
Ravindra Jadeja
Jadeja has not had much performance in IPL 2024. Till now Jadeja has not been able to do anything special with neither the ball nor the bat. Batting for CSK, he has scored only 159 runs in 10 matches, which includes the only half-century. Even in bowling, Jadeja is yearning for wickets. He has taken 5 wickets in 10 matches so far this season at an average of 51.20 and an economy rate of 7.53.
Sanju Samson
Sanju currently has scored 385 runs in 9 matches in IPL 2024, including four half-centuries, and was in a triangular battle with Pant and KL Rahul for a place in the team, in which he was given priority.
Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep took two wickets in an over twice in a match. The 25-year-old left-arm fast bowler bowled a brilliant spell, taking wickets for 29 runs at an economy of 7.25 in four overs. Singh bowled brilliantly and took 13 wickets for his team in 10 matches.
Yajuvendra Chahal
Chahal has proved to be very expensive in IPL 2024. In one match, he gave 62 runs in the quota of 4 overs and could not bring any success to his team. Also, this was his 300th T20 match. The 33-year-old is currently ranked sixth in the Purple Cap with 13 wickets in this edition of the IPL.

Let us tell you that the T20 World Cup is starting on June 2, in which India’s campaign will start against Ireland in New York on June 5. The team will be hoping to overcome recent challenges and emerge victorious in this much-awaited tournament. However, the performance of Team India selected by BCCI does not seem to be such that the team can reach the final round.
